RULES & LEAGUE EXPLAINED :-

 

All of our events are run in accordance with British Dressage rules.  These can be viewed by logging onto the BD website and ordering a rule book.

General rules include:

 

1. NO DOGS ALLOWED. No dogs are allowed at any of our venues.

2. Park conservatively, epecially at Cote Green Farm where spaces are limited.
3. Rubbish should be disposed of correctly in the bins provided.

4. Please respect all stewards and competitors, any complaines must be raised with Liam Sloan. Offensive behaviour will not be tolerated.

5. The welfare of the horse is paramount. Any misuse of equipment or distress to the horse is forbidden.

6. Only the rider who is entered to ride the horse in the test is allowed to ride the horse at any time at the competition.

7.The 'left hand to left hand' rule applies.  Riders walking their horse must ride on the inside. 

8. Withdrawals are accepted up to the competition date however, there are no refunds after the closing date.

9. NO LUNGING at any of our venues.

10. Our competitions are all self stewarding and it is therefore the competitors responsibility to be on time to ride their test. 

11. In order to keep the competition running smoothly please could riders be aware that the 45 second rule applies. Riders who fail to begin their test 45 seconds after the judge has rung the bell are open to elimination at the judges discretion.

12. Only SNAFFLE bits which are permited by BD and listed in the BD rule book are allowed. BD rules are available at all competitions. WILKIE SNAFFLES are NOT allowed. Using any forbidden bit will result in elimination.

13. Only tack specified in the BD rulebook is allowed. Martingales, brushing boots, bandages are not permitted during the test, including neck straps form Novice level upwards. Riders who begin their test wearing any forbidden tack is eliminated from the test.

14. The use of the riders voice, clicking or making a sound to infulence the performance will result in 2 marks deducted for each time it occurs.

15. All schedules / fees are subject to change. The organiser reserves the right to alter, change, ammend or cancel any event or part of without explanation.



All rules are for your safety and to help increase efficiency.

 

 

 

At each event all competitors qualify for league points and at the end of the year the top ten horse and rider combinations will ride to win the end of season supreme championship title.

 

 

Combinations that are not fortunate enough to be placed in the top ten will have the opportunity to compete to win the end of season special championship title.

2nd is awarded 7 points

3rd is awarded 6 points

4th is awarded 5 points

5th is awarded 4 points

6th is awarded 3 points

Riders outside the top six is awarded 1 point

 

Highest place junior is awarded 2 points

 

 

 

PERCENTAGE POINTS

 

 

 

40 - 44.99 % is awarded 1 point

45 - 49.99 % is awarded 2 points

50 - 54.99 % is awarded 3 points

55 - 59.99 % is awarded 4 points

60 - 64.99 % is awarded 5 points

65 - 69.99 % is awarded 6 points

70 % is awarded 7 points
